About Me

Welcome to the Don Campbell Elementary Website!

I was born and raised in Red Deer and attended school here from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Both my parents also grew up in Central Alberta and continue to work and live here.

After completing high school, I went on to get my Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta.

One of my passions is traveling.  I have been to Europe a few times (Denmark, England, Germany, and Belgium), Central America (Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Mexico) and to multiple places in the United States. I am always looking forward to planning my next trip.

Before I began teaching I played many sports with hockey being my favorite.  I was fortunate to play all my minor hockey in Red Deer and then to finish with the Red Deer Vipers. We won 2 provincial championships and a Western Canadian Championship in 2006 with many of my long time friends.  In my spare time now I continue to play hockey, get outdoors as much as possible, and spend time with my family.

My wife, Sheri, (of 5 years now) works for the Government of Alberta.  We have two sons, Oliver who is three and Aiden who is brand new and was born August 20th. Our family also includes our dog, Gus, who is a miniature schnauzer is packed full of energy and keeps us on our toes.

This is my 10th year of teaching (all were previously spent at Annie L. Gaetz Elementary) . I am really looking forward to this new adventure at Don Campbell Elementary. The colleagues I work with are some of the most amazing individuals.  I am really looking forward to this school year and meeting the new students and families.

Incorporating technology into the education your child will receive and having students that are responsible digital citizens continue to be a vital component to the way I teach.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or here at the school.               or               403-346-2611
